The Nigerian Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari is set to submit the long-awaited list of ministerial nominees for the consideration and approval of the Nigerian Senate.
Lawan said that the President would send the list containing the names of ministerial nominees before the end of the week.
Eye 9ja reports that Lawan stated this during a plenary on Wednesday, July 10.
Lawan explained that the Presidency was working tirelessly hard to ensure that the list was ready early enough before the senators proceed on their annual two-month recess.
The President of the Senate made this known while responding to a point of order raised by Senator Bassey Akpan, who earlier expressed worries that the delay in the submission of the list could affect the holidays of the senators.
Similarly, the Nigerian Senate had on Tuesday lamented over the delay by the executive in presenting the ministerial list.
The Senate had through its spokesman; Adedayo Adeyeye lamented the delay on Tuesday, July 9.
Eye 9ja understands that Lawan also assured his colleagues and Nigerians that the nominees would be screened by the upper chamber before the annual vacation which would commence on July 26.
