Afenifere leader’s daughter’s death has still remained a shock to the whole nation after she was killed by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen.
Eye 9ja recalls that Mrs Olufunke Olakunrin, daughter of the Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti was killed by the gunmen along the popular Ore expressway.
Afenifere leader’s daughter’s death was confirmed by the spokesman for Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, who announced the death of the daughter of the Afenifere Chairman in a message sent to The PUNCH on Friday.
The statement on the Afenifere leader’s daughter’s death, quoted the spokesman for Afenifere, to have confirmed that Mrs Olufunke Olakunrin was killed by herdsmen who attacked her and repeatedly shot her.
“She was coming from Akure when the armed Fulani herdsmen came from the bush to attack her and other vehicles.
“Her domestic staff in the car with her also sustained gunshots,” the statement by Odumakin on Afenifere leader’s daughter’s death said in parts.
In a fresh twist to the Afenifere leader’s daughter’s death, the driver and household of Mrs Olufunke Olakunrin, has recounted how she was murdered.
In a report monitored on TVC News revealed that the driver, Tayo Ogundare, recalled that some masked men came out from the bush to attack their vehicle; an attack that led to the Fasoranti’s daughter.
He added that they shot at the vehicle just after the Ore toll gate.
Tayo while giving an update on the death of Mrs Olufunke Olakunrin, confirmed that his boss died at the hospital due to gunshot injuries, adding that his boss lost a lot of blood and could not survive the shots.
“We had a stopover to buy soft drinks at Ore. We were attacked at Ore toll gate by some masked men who emerged from the bush.
“At this point, madam asked me to reverse which I did. They started shooting at us and other vehicles.
“In the process my boss was hit by bullets. Some of us in the vehicle escaped. We later rushed her to the hospital where she gave up the ghost,” he stated.
