The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s opposition party has requested the immediate transfer of the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Busari and Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. James Apam.
Eye9ja reports that the request for the transfers was made ahead of the upcoming November 16 governorship election in the state.
This request and resolution were made in the Lokoja Local Government of the state, briefly after the PDP stakeholders meeting on Tuesday, October 1.
The PDP noted that “Fairness, equity and justice could only be guaranteed in the forthcoming election if Busari and Apam are removed.”
In a communiqué signed by the party chairman in Lokoja, Abubakar Idris warned against deploying Dr. Amina Zakari, national commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to oversee the election.
According to the communiqué, the People Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi state chapter at its stakeholders meeting passed a vote of confidence in the Nigerian Army (Records) Command and the DSS in Lokoja
It restated its commitment to ensuring victory for the party and its candidate, Musa Wada, and called on members to work for him.
