Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken amidst the speculations that the president is set to take a second wife.
Aisha Buhari, Nigeria’s first lady on Friday, October 11, joined the female gender to commemorate the international day of the girl child.
Eye9ja reports that that the rumours suggested that Buhari is getting married to a second wife and that the ‘private’ wedding is set to hold today.
In a report obtained by Eye9ja, a source who requested anonymity revealed that Buhari is set to marry the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management, Sadia Farouq in a quiet ceremony.
Ignoring the rumours on Friday, the first lady, in a tweet revealing the theme for this year’s celebration of the girl child, when she tweeted that she was happy to see that much progress have been made in the areas of activism.
Her tweet reads; “Today, I join millions of girls around the world to celebrate this year’s international day of the girl child, the theme for this year is “GirlForce: Unscripted and Unstoppable”.
I am happy to note the progress that has been made in the area of activism by girls to protect 1/2 their gender.”
“I want to state that more needs to be done especially to address gender based violence which seems to be more pronounced recently. All hands must be on deck to achieve this,” she added
