The minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajia Sadiya Farouq, has finally broken her silence to speak on a fake Twitter account promoting the hashtag “#The Wedding” and alleging her planned marriage to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Eye9ja reports that Hajia Sadiya identified the fake account promoting the wedding as @Sadiya_Farouq_.
Eye9ja observed that the fake account of the minister (@Sadiya_Farouq_) only had 462 followers at the time of this report; the number of followers which is clearly different from the authentic account of the minister, @Sadiya_Farouq, which has 18,900 followers.
The fake account, however, denied any speculations of a planned wedding between the minister and President Buhari.
“There have been several speculations in media regarding Marriage between Myself and Baba Buhari. I will like to clarify this that me and Baba Buhari have been old time friends and Her Excellency Aisha is my good friend and a sister. I will like to maintain this good relationship,” one of the tweets read.
However, in a swift reaction to the fake account and the perpetration of her rumoured wedding with the president, the Minister has taken to her authentic Twitter account on Friday to warn members of the public on the activities of the fake account.
In her tweet, She wrote: “It has come to my attention that a fake Twitter account @Sadiya_farouq_ has been created in my name. I wish to inform my followers and well-meaning Nigerians to disregard the handle and any information posted on it. My official Twitter handle remains @Sadiya_farouq. Thank you.”
