An undisclosed number of persons have been feared dead while several others have sustained varying degrees of burns after a tanker explosion in Onitsha.
Eye9ja reports that the incident occurred in the evening hours of Wednesday, October 16.
This online news platform understands that the tragedy struck at the Onitsha main market after a truck conveying premium motor spirit (PMS) lost control and rammed into the fence of Toronto Hospital, Upper-Iweka, Onitsha.
Eye9ja understands that the inferno started when the tanker spilt its product and subsequently ignited the fire outbreak.
As at the time of this report, the fire service officials are yet to arrive the scene to put out the inferno.
No record of injuries has been reported as at the time of this report while efforts are been made to put out the inferno.
