The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has been congratulated by the Elders’ Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Ekiti state chapter.
According to the Elders’ Forum his government as a “transformational style of government.”
Eye9ja reports that Chief George Akosile, the chairman of the forum, said the last one year has been active in Ekiti.
The Chairman commended him on his efforts to secure the state from criminal activities have been rewarding.
Akosile made this commendation known in a statement where he said that the governor has been conscious of the need to reawaken the state for greater heights. He said through the efforts of the government, the World Bank-assisted water project, and that his administration has been a is a commendable one.
The Chairman While speaking on the standards of education in the state proposed that the enlistment of about 2,000 teachers for public primary and secondary schools would help in enhancing the impact of the government in education in the state .
His words; “While commending the efforts of Dr. Kayode Fayemi for the wonderful strides as indicated, we still want to remind him of the areas that will further allow for effective administration and better the lots of the people. The administration’s desire to pay the minimum wage of N30,000 to the public servants in the state is of great value. We commend him for making appointments based on merit and fair play.
“The restoration of the payment on monthly stipends of N5,000 for the elderly as a means of eradicating poverty is valuable. There is the need for continuation of the five-kilometer road per each local government throughout the state and the need to address the condition of the intra roads linking other states roads of the federation.”
The forum called on the federal government, particularly Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, the Minister of Trade and Industry to identify some industries based in the state for the Federal Government’s attention.
The Chairman further said as thus; “Otunba Adebayo should help locate some industries based on the various raw materials available in the state.
“The forum is grateful to the entire APC family in and outside Ekiti for their total love for the governor that was clearly manifested in the peaceful conduct of the recent local government primary election in the state.”
