Ahmed Ali Gulak, Former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, has said that the call of an easterner as president isn’t guaranteed constitutionally.
Eye9ja report that during an interview with the sun, the Ex adviser has said zoning was not in the constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Ex adviser who was also APC primary for the Imo state governorship and National Assembly has in his statement revealed that only the ruling party can decide who flies the party’s flag.
He said: “It does not matter to me because I am a realist and I don’t believe in this dichotomy of North, South.
“I will support whoever that is there and give him the opportunity to serve out his term. Some people claimed that for political balancing the APC should give the presidential ticket to the Southeast, but such zoning and rotation is not written in our constitution.
“I can also tell you that zoning is not written in the constitutions of most big parties in Nigeria.
