Kidnappers Hold Man With Ransom Money Captive

Son of an elderly man in Dayi town, Malunfashi LGA,  Abdu Tela who was captured by kidnappers on the 29 October, demanding a ransom of 10 million has also been kidnapped.

Eye9ja report that Tela’s son, Sa’adu Abdul was kidnapped in Katsina state after taking money to get his father released from the hands of the kidnappers. he was held captive with the sum of N4 million naira that was meant for the release of hid dad.

This online news platform understands that the ransom money which was supposed to be N10m for Tela’s release was negotiated southwards to N4m, Sa’adu who was accompanied by two of his friends who stayed some distance away, took the money to the appointed place.

Instead of getting  Tela released, the kidnappers decided to hold his son captive, until the full ransom is paid

According to Daily Trust, the kidnappers communicated their decision to Abdu’s friends, using Abdu’s phone.

SP Gambo Isah, Spokesman of the state police command, was shocked by the new situation, in which kidnappers would also seize the man with ransom money.

He said, “We always warn against negotiating with kidnappers and urge people to trust the police to handle the situation. People should always have confidence in security agencies to help and recover those kidnapped, we always ask them to resist negotiating, and kidnappers are not dependable.”
