Deputy Speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly, Okey Onyekanma has on Tuesday resigned his positions in the legislative arm of the state’s government.
Eye9ja reports that the resignation of the Deputy Speaker of the house comes in about few weeks after the Supreme sacked Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of the state, replacing him with Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Onyekanma who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also on Tuesday resigned his position as the Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business.
The Lawmaker disclosed his decision to withdraw from the house in a letter read by the Speaker to the House during a plenary on Tuesday.
