Eye9ja understands that Prof Bello Agaie, Nigerian Veterinary Association president has died of COVID-19, the academic community in Nigeria has lost another member to the deadly corona-virus.
Eye9ja has obtained that Prof. Monsuru Emiola of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK), is a native of Oyo State had died earlier.
According to reports gathered by this reliable online news platform Mr Bello Agaie, a Professor of Veterinary Medicine, is the latest casualty.
The decease Mr Bello Agaie was the former Dean of Students Affairs at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University.
The don also lectured at the university until he lost the battle to COVID-19 complications.
His demise was confirmed Thursday night by the Niger State Government.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mary Noel-Berje, made the announcement on its official micro-blogging site (Twitter).
Mary Noel-Berje, tweet reads: “Governor Abubakar Sani of Niger State has revealed that so far, ten persons have been confirmed positive for coronavirus out of 202 samples collected and tested.
“Meanwhile, Niger State has lost a Professor of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Bello Agaie of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University to COVID-19.”
