NYSC Corper slumps, dies at her Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) in Rivers state, Eye9ja reports.
Eye9ja understands that the corp member of the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), whose is identified as Atiye Florence Aduke died over the weekend at a hospital in Abua Odual Local Government Area of the state.
The Corp member of the 2019 Batch C, Stream 2 of the Nigerian youth program died after she had health complications orchestrated by an incident that occurred at her abode in the state.
Reports revealed to Eye9ja that the NYSC Corper had macked her head through the wall of her apartment on Wednesday, May 27 and slumped.
This led to complications in her health as she was, however, rushed to the nearby health care centre where she finally gave up the ghost on Saturday.
The death of the young serving corp was described as painful by friends and loved ones as they took to the social media each to express their heartfelt loss to the her family, the country and the NYSC Scheme, the largest youth family in Nigeria.
Reacting to her exit, her sibling, Atiye Olawale who disclosed the incident of the social media, shared his last conversation with the deceased.
In his words, Olawale wrote as thus; “Painfull exit, Atiye Florence Aduke u told me that I should come and visit you once u come back from Port Harcourt to Lagos of which I make move, before getting there, u call me on my way that “Bros Wale” don’t bother yourself ‘I will be fine’ but greet our mother for me till I come back from my journey. Not knowing that u are saying your last word.”
Meanwhile, this online news platform gathered that the 2019 Batch C, stream 2 mobilized set of NYSC was the last for 2019, before the Corp mobilized a fresh set for 2020, the 2020 Batch A, stream one who spent roughly one week at their various orientation camps; a development that could be traced to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, also known as COVID-19 in Nigeria.
