Security personnel have taken over the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Benin City, Edo state capital.
Eye9ja reports that the office which is located at Ramat Park in the ancient city electoral umpire had moved back to its permanent office after vacating the premises to a rented apartment along Sapele Road as a result of flooding.
Two Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) were stationed before and after the office while traffic is being diverted to follow one lane.

Gun-wielding policeman and soldiers were sighted on the premises.
On another development, earlier today, Saturday, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC was reportedly caught attempting to snatch electoral materials at a polling unit in Oredo LGA, Edo state.
He was fiercely resisted by voters and some PDP supporters at the unit. Voting has since commenced in the highly anticipated Edo state election.
