PDP’s Obaseki in tears when he lamented that the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is making deliberate attempts to rig him out of the ongoing Edo sate gubernatorial election.
Eye9ja reports that the incumbent governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki who is also the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), cried out on Saturday, over alleged manipulation of the election process at polling units where he has strongholds.
The incumbent Governor of Edo State made the assertion in a statement a few minutes ago through his Special Adviser, Crusoe Osagie.
They’re Rigging Me Out– PDP’s ‘Obaseki In Tears’
According to Osagie in an interaction with newsmen during the Saturday polls, “there is an ongoing deliberate election manipulation in areas where he has strongholds.”
“Suddenly, card readers are not working in areas where Governor Godwin Obaseki is very popular,” the SA lamented.
He added; “Voters are being disenfranchised and we are constrained to say that this is sabotage,”
“Specifically, in Oredo Ward 1, Unit 20 and other places where the Governor is clearly popular, the card readers are not working.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should prove to Edo voters that it can conduct a credible election in Edo State.”
This comes as this reliable online news platform had reported the chaos at the polling unit of Governor Obaseki earlier on Saturday.
