Emmanuel Macron is a French politician currently serving as President of France since 2017. He is a member of the centrist political party La République En Marche! and was a former Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs.
Early life and career
Macron was born in Amiens, in the northern region of France on 21 December 1977. He began studying philosophy at the University of Paris-Ouest Nanterre La Défense, before leaving for the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. After graduating from the French National School of Administration in 2004, he served as an inspector of finances in the Inspectorate General of Finances. From 2007 until 2012, he was a senior civil servant at the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Employment.
Political views
Macron strongly supports progressive, liberal, and pro-European policies. He has expressed his views on many global issues, such as climate change and the need for greater dialogue between nations. He has advocated for the decriminalization of drugs and for the promotion of renewable energies.
