Has ‘Bel-Air’ been canceled or renewed? Here’s what we know about Season 3!
On Friday, March 17, Peacock revealed that Bel-Air was renewed, and, to be honest, we’re not surprised. The network shared the good news in an announcement video that features a photo montage of the cast holding up the number three.
News of Bel-Air’s renewal comes as no surprise as the series has quickly become a fan favorite since the series made its debut on the small screen in 2022. After all, the numbers don’t lie. Following the show’s premiere, Bel-Air was Peacock’s most-watched original series of 2022.
On the other hand, critics have found that Bel-Air is just a gloomier version of the original series, and they haven’t been as impressed with its exploration of race and class dynamics as they were with Fresh Prince. Not only that, but Bel-Air has struggled with its fair share of behind-the-scenes challenges.

Its original showrunner, Chris Collins, left a long time before Season 1 even aired, and then Diane Houston came on board. She left, and TJ Brady and Rasheed Newson took over as co-showrunners. However, they left due to creative differences in how to continue the series, so now in just two seasons, Bel-Air has its fourth showrunner, Carla Banks Waddles.
While critics of the series believe that there’s room for improvement, it doesn’t look like the Fresh Prince is going anywhere anytime soon.
